Arthur E. Attema
Arthur E. Attema is a senior researcher at the Health Economics Department (GE-iMTA) of iBMG. He is part of the group of
Prof Werner Brouwer.
His main research interests include utility measurement, intertemporal decision making, prospect theory and health technology assessment.
Arthur obtained an MSc degree in Economics at the University of Amsterdam (cum laude) and an MSc degree in Health Economics at Erasmus
University Rotterdam. He holds a PhD degree from the Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam, received for his
dissertation on intertemporal preferences with applications
to health economics, under supervision of Prof Han Bleichrodt and
Prof Peter P. Wakker. Arthur is also in the Behavioral Economics Group.
He has published in several economic A-journals (including the Economic Journal, Journal of Health Economics, and Management
Science) and in influential medical journals (such as Medical Decision Making and Value in Health). Arthur is course
coordinator in the HEPL Master Course "Rationing: A multidisciplinary approach" and teacher in the HE Master Course "Advanced Economic
Evaluation" and the BMG Bachelor Course "Verdelingsvraagstukken en Gezondheidszorgbeleid". Finally, he is member of the iBMG faculty council.
